Vultron developed various solutions to control On-Board devices serving the needs
exhibited by Passenger Information (PI) and Automatic Vehicle Monitoring (AVMS).
The history of On-Board Controllers (or Central Control Units) at Vultron can ve
classified as

FLC controllers based on Microchip/PIC technology

OBU (On-Board Unit) controllers based on Intel Atom technology

Rack mounted controllers for railway applications.

FLC controller family

The „Vultron FLC controllers” family represents the classical solution used to control
all the on-board passenger information devices, data communication between the
controller and the devices, as well as to support the drivers
activity.

The latest FLC controllers, however, offer funcionality well over the management of
the interior/external signs, MP3 voice announcment and ticket validators, namely they
involve

·         CAN bus interface to support vehicle diagnosis

·         GPS/GSM communication to enable the vehicle to participate in fleet management

·         USB and WiFi to support database update.

The OBU plug-in units perform various tasks. The rack mounted structure allows to
accomodate both Vultron develped modules and third party products:

     ● VU-PWS-T : 24V/12V power suppl

     ● VU-COMU-T: communication module (GSM, GPS receiver,
CAN interface, UIC modem, serial USB interface)

     ● VU-ICT-S : Industrial PC module (On-Board Rack PC)

     ● FAS 881 emergency calling system produced by CARLS

operates separately with its own power supply and I/O

features controller device and has been integrated to the OBU

via the VU-PC-T interface module (audio interface, LED and

        serial line control).
